A lot of people hate wearing socks to bed. Some say it actually prevents them from falling asleep.

If you are one of those people, you may want to re-think your sock-clad feet. Here’s why: wearing socks to bed may help you fall asleep faster!

This is according to Doctor Jess Andrade. The Massachusettes doctor says, “Wearing socks makes your feet warm, and this opens up the blood vessels that cools down the body. The body being cool tells the brain that it’s time for bed…..people that wear socks tend to fall asleep faster.”

Since we’re on the subject of a good night’s sleep……another technique is getting some buzz lately. Fitness coach Craig Ballantyne suggests the “10-3-2-1-0” method.

  • 10 hours before bed: No more caffeine.
  • 3 hours before bed: No more food/alcohol.
  • 2 hours before bed: No more work.
  • 1 hour before bed: No screen time.
  • 0: times to hit the “snooze” button in the morning.

If this strategy seems too restrictive, pull on a pair of fuzzy socks and chase those Zzzzzz’s.
