It’s always fun to look at the patents and inventions of Canadians. Modern day ginger Ale, basketball, and peanut butter?!?!?!

Yes! Peanut butter has Canadian roots!

The first patent for Peanut Butter came from Montreal in 1884. The inventor was Marcellus Gilmore Edson!

The original purpose of peanut butter was to use the butter, to make peanut candies.. not to spread on your toast!
